Greetings and welcome the Read On Wisconsin! website! Read On Wisconsin, is a statewide book club for students and book-lovers across the state. I hope you will get involved in Read On by reading and discussing fascinating books. This year’s top picks are recommended by students and educators across Wisconsin. Through the club, students, teachers, and parents can read and discuss award-winning books in and out of the classroom.

I hope you will use the Student and Teacher Web Logs to give us your opinions and the Events section to keep you informed of school visits. I encourage you to post your opinions and reactions to the books.

Sign Up Today! Our Second Reading Day at the Executive Residence

We are delighted to share great news that we are again working with the Wisconsin International Outreach Consortium (WIOC) for our November Reading Day. Each year, WIOC has an International Children's Literature Day event in Madison. This day offers interactive workshops for K-12 educators, librarians, and children's literature enthusiasts, with an aim to internationalize statewide curriculum. This event always hosts fabulous authors, and these authors have agreed to participate in our November Reading Day.

Our November Reading Day will be Friday, November 20, 2009 from 9:00 a.m. to 2:30 p.m. During this Reading Day, we will welcome authors, Sylviane Diouf, Rachna Gilmore, and James Rumford to the Executive Residence. Our schedule for the day will be:

9:00 - 10:00 - Rachna Gilmore with A Group of One

10:00 - 11:00 - Rachna Gilmore with A Group of One

11:00 - 12:00 - Sylviane Diouf with Bintou's Braids

12:30 - 1:30 - James Rumford with Silent Music: A Story of Baghdad

1:30 - 2:30 - James Rumford with Silent Music: A Story of Baghdad
